The drafting of a new two-year state budget will be the primary focus of the Republican-dominated Legislature during its session expected to last until late April.
The 10-member council was put together by former President Barack Obama in January 2010 to better coordinate preparedness and response between the federal government and states.
Indiana Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb signed 67 bills on Monday, three days after lawmakers concluded their annual session.
