The district canceled all outdoor activities after noon Thursday because of the high heat index.
Extreme heat can take a toll on anyone who spends time outside, but it can be even more harmful to student athletes pushing themselves to the limit.
The heat index is forecasted to be at least 107 degrees Thursday and Friday.
