One day after the U.S. Department of Justice laid out major issues with the Louisville Metro Police Department after a two-year federal civil rights investigation, LMPD's interim chief and mayor said they're moving forward trying to fill a massive officer shortage.
First and foremost: call police if you see anything out of the ordinary.Â
In her letter, Chief Gwinn-Villaroel said she became chief during “challenging times” where a wall of “divisiveness between the men and women of LMPD, the citizens, media, and the mayoral administration existed.
