LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Disaster recovery centers in LaRue and Meade counties in Kentucky are set to close permanently this weekend.
The centers are located at the Emergency Medical Services Classroom on South Lincoln Boulevard in Hodgenville, and the Greer Command Center at the fairgrounds in Brandenburg.
Both will close their doors Saturday at 7 p.m.
While the centers are closing, help is still available at any other disaster recovery center. Locations can be found by clicking here.
The centers were opened after rounds of severe weather and widespread flooding in April brought devastation to much of the Kentuckiana area, killing at least seven people, according to Gov. Andy Beshear's office. The Ohio River crested at Louisville's McAlpine Upper gauge at 36.63 feet, making it one of the 10 worst floods in the city's history.
No appointment is needed to get help at one of the centers.
