LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 22-year-old maintenance worker was killed in Hodgenville on Tuesday morning, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Kentucky State Police said Blake Barnes, a contract worker, was killed in an accident on KY 210, known as Old Elizabethtown Road, near Tonieville Road. Barnes, from Elizabethtown, was hit by a vehicle driven by Henry T. James, 74, while working on a maintenance operation.
James, from Louisville, was driving a 2000 GMC Savana eastbound on Old Elizabethtown Road when he entered a portion of the roadway that was reduced to one lane, according to police. KSP said James didn't see Barnes, who was in the eastbound lane of the roadway flagging traffic before he was hit.
