LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two adults and four children were displaced after a house fire Thursday morning in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
According to Donovan Sims, a spokesperson for the Louisville Fire Department, crews responded to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of North 21st Street just after 11:30 a.m. That's off West Main Street, not far from the North 22nd Street connector.
Crews arrived on scene within three minutes and found a home on fire, which they got under control in about eight minutes, Sims said. Crews were able to confine the fire to the room of origin.
Four engine companies, 26 firefighters, two truck companies, two battalion chiefs and one staff officer responded to the fire.
Sims said those inside the home were able to evacuate before the fire spread. No injuries were reported, but two adults and four children were displaced and are being helped by the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
