LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A semi crash caused several lanes of Interstate 65 to be closed Tuesday morning.

The crash affected all lanes of Interstate 65 south right off the Kennedy Bridge, the Interstate 65 north to Interstate 64 west ramp, and the Interstate 65 south to Interstate 71 north ramp.

All lanes and ramps of Interstate 65 reopened around 9 a.m.

LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis said officers were called to a report of a commercial vehicle collision on Interstate 65 south just off the Kennedy Bridge around 3:30 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a tractor-trailer that had jackknifed and came to a stop with the front of the cab on the side of the retaining wall.

The driver was able to get out safely on his own and did not sustain any injuries.

It is unknown at this time what caused the crash.

Ellis said there is a "large amount of diesel fuel" that will be cleaned up once the semi is removed. Both saddle tanks came off the truck when it jack-knifed, causing the spillage.
