LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Even with hot temperatures, it didn't slow down athletes from competing in an annual Louisville tradition.
The 10th annual Tri Louisville was held Sunday all throughout the city. The race has participants swimming in the Ohio River, cycling through courses and running toward the finish line at Waterfront Park.
Racers could choose their race formats and do one or all three. For many, the race was their first.
"Almost 200 of our athletes today have never done a triathlon before so they are doing their very first race ever and they have the biggest smiles on their faces and then the people who come every single year, it just becomes more and more of a party so you race hard and play hard afterwards," race director Joe Fleenor said.
Sunday's race was the first time it's ever been a sellout.
