LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Bardstown, Kentucky, man was killed in a crash in Nelson County Tuesday morning.
Kentucky State Police Post 4 received a request for assistance in investigating a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Springfield Road and Pottershop Loop in Bardstown around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. That's near E. John Rowan Boulevard.
Police said 42-year-old Brian Tichenor, of Bardstown, was driving northbound on Springfield Road when he "failed to negotiate a curve before crossing the center line," hitting a semi-tractor trailer traveling southbound head-on, KSP said in a news release.
The Nelson County Coroner's Office pronounced Tichenor dead at the scene. The semi driver was not injured.
A portion of Springfield Road was closed for several hours while KSP reconstructed the scene and investigated.
