LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Bullitt County Sheriff's Office is sharing a warning about a phone call scam.
The sheriff's office said it was made aware of a phone scam where someone is calling people pretending to be with the sheriff's office.
It's similar to several other scams previously reported throughout Kentuckiana.
The sheriff's office said scammers are trying to convince people they are in some kind of legal trouble or missed jury duty and need to send money to avoid charges or fines.
If you receive this type of call, hang up or call the Kentucky Attorney General's Office Scam Reporting Line at (888) 432-9257. Reports can also be made online by clicking here.
The sheriff's office said it will never call members of the public and request money to avoid arrest.
