LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Against the Grain is closing its flagship restaurant at Louisville Slugger Field.Â
In a Facebook post, the owners said the ATG Public House lease at the ballpark is expiring, and they decided not to renew. Their last day at the location will be Dec. 23, so they can focus more on the company's beverage manufacturing operation.Â
"All these great experiences and our community have helped shape us into the beverage manufacturing company we are today, committed to putting our best foot forward to produce world class beers and beverages right here in Louisville, Kentucky that we can all be proud of," the post said.Â
According to our partners at Louisville's Business First, Jerry Gnagy and Sam Cruz opened the brewery and restaurant in 2011. Since then, ATG has expanded its packaged beer distribution and invested heavily in production at its facility in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
The company still plans to sell its beers to restaurants, bars and retailers in the region. The owners told Louisville Business First they also plan to "pop up here and there" and could host events at its production site.Â
Against the Grain closed its Highlands Public House in Aug. 24, which Louisville Business First said was because of a lease renewal and changing neighborhood economics.Â
Earlier this year, the company launched a line of THC beverages called ZAZA. The drinks are available in Kentucky, southern Indiana and in the Chicago area.Â
