LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A brewery is closing its Louisville taproom this weekend after more than four years.
Hi-Wire announced the closure of its taproom on Baxter Avenue in a social media post Monday.
The taproom opened on the ground floor of the Baxter Apartments development in Phoenix Hill in August 2021.
Hi-Wire produced some of its beer in-house, but most came from its homebase in Asheville, North Carolina. It offers 24 taps, 20 of which are their own brews.
"This space has meant everything to us — it's been a gathering place where oru team built genuine connections with this community, hosted unforgettable events, and shared our passion for great beer," Hi-Wire said in a post on its Facebook page. "Our bar staff poured their hearts into creating something special here, and we're forever grateful to everyone who walked through that door."
The brewery said it will now put its focus on its seven other taprooms across its home state and Tennessee.
Hi-Wire had distributed its beer in the Louisville area for for years prior to opening the Baxter Avenue taproom, and fans can still buy it at retail stores in the area, our partners at Louisville Business First.
The taproom's last day is this Saturday, Oct. 18, from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. The brewery is offering $2 draft pints, $5 packaged beer to go and 50% off merchandise all week leading up to its final day.
