LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A New England-style seafood restaurant will open in Louisville's Schnitzelburg neighborhood next month.

A new development on Goss Avenue, near Hauck's Corner, will be home to Franny's, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

Owner Meghan Love said the 2,600-square-foot restaurant, named after her grandmother, will resemble a European bistro with a nautical theme and a casual vibe.

"We have this beautiful zinc bar — I don't know if there's another one in town, but it doesn't look exactly like ours," Love told LBF. "I have beautiful banquettes and it's very nautical, so everything's navy and gold. I have nautical ship lighting, and it's going to be a very beautiful space — but still a pretty casual vibe."

The restaurant will have 80 seats inside, with space on an outdoor patio for up to 30 people.

Franny's will offer New England-style seafood, including baked clams, oysters, clams casino and a traditional fish and chips dish. Love said she intends to make Franny's an affordable option, with entrees under $26 for lunch and dinner.

The restaurant's cocktail menu will focus on classics, Love said, such as martinis, negronis and cosmos. There will also be regular specials on drinks and fish.

This won't be Love's first foray into the restaurant industry. The Louisville native moved back home six years ago after spending 18 years in New York City, where she and partner Jeff Lutonsky opened Mable's Smokehouse in Brooklyn.

Love said Franny's will be open daily. She hopes to have the restaurant open to the public by the first week of December.
