LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thousands of people are in Louisville for the annual St. James Art Show.
Paint, pottery and lots of paths make up the art show.
"It's just gorgeous," attendee Kathy Schoen said. "I look forward to it every year. I mark it off on my calendar. It doesn't matter if it' rain or shine, I come every year."
Schoen, who's a Louisville resident, came with a friend. She typically arrives before it opens at 10 a.m.
"All the arts are gorgeous, always buy jewelry, usually something else, we'll see," Schoen said.
This year, there are over 600 artists and booths.
"Oh, I love this festival," Anne Elliott, who has had a booth at the art show for the past seven years, said. "It draws so many people and so many people from different places."
Anne Porter Elliott Pottery comes from Stamping Ground, Kentucky, but art show organizers said there are over 46 states and Canada represented throughout St. James.
"I think it's just, it's huge," said Chelsea Gildea, who's from California. "I'm really impressed with the size of all the art. "It just feels like it's the whole state kind of coming together. So very impressed."
Over 300,000 people are expected to visit Old Louisville this weekend.

"This year, I think the crowds are bigger, especially on Friday, we had people here an hour before the show started in great numbers, which we've never had before," art show executive director Howard Rosenberg said.
WDRB bumped into some people from Indiana, Pennsylvania and California.
"It's gorgeous," Hernandez said. "We've seen so much good art, and we had some delicious steak sandwiches and nachos, pork nachos, and iced coffee. It's been amazing."
It's always the first full weekend in October; and each year, more and more people take pictures with the famous, green fountain.
"This year we got a huge bonus," Schoen said. "This weather is fabulous. We're so lucky."
The show runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is free for the show. It will be held rain or shine, but no pets are allowed.
