LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After three years of sharp price increases, fast food restaurants are rolling out new cheaper meal deals.
A post went viral on social media few months back, showing a photo of an $18 Big Mac meal at a highway rest top in Connecticut.
A bacon cheeseburger at Five Guys is higher than $12 now, and a small fry is $5.
McDonalds and others said they are hearing the complaints, so they are making changes.
McDonalds is extending a $5 value meal with a McChicken or McDouble, fries, and a drink.
Burger King launched a similar deal, except with a Whopper Jr. or a bacon cheeseburger, and Wendy's is offering a $1 breakfast sandwich.
While these deals help, prices are still high.
"Finance Buzz" said fast food prices have risen between 39-100% in the past 10 years, with a Big Mac rising from $3.99 to $5.99 since 2014.
So you can now find a cheap fast food meal, but the most popular combos will still be as expensive as they have ever been.
