LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Peak moving season is near as the spring season grows closer. If you're hiring a moving company in the near future, there are some things to watch for before you sign a contract.

Everyone wants their items packed and moved in a timely manner, along with nothing being broken.

Complaints from movers range from lost and damaged items, to late deliveries, and all sorts of added fees.

To protect yourself, the Better Business Bureau recommends getting quotes from three different companies. Once you find the one you want, get a signed, binding estimate, or an estimate that says the maximum you will have to pay.

Estimates should never be taken over the phone and it is a good idea to talk to a company representative face to face.

Don't let a low price be your main deciding factor, because you could be getting fooled in the end.
