LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville institution will reopen its garage doors this weekend.

Garage Bar in NuLu will welcome back customers at 4 p.m. Friday, according to a post on the bar's Facebook page.

The popular hangout spot on East Market Street closed temporarily at the end of June due to construction in the area and a change in ownership.

Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown sold garage bar to Todd Moore, according to a news release. Moore is a local entrepreneur and proprietor of The Taj at 811 East Market Street.

The bar also got a facelift during the closure. With the ownership change, the restaurant said in the social media post it would be launching a new menu "in a few weeks."

The bar will stay open until 2 a.m. Saturday, and will be open Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday.

Garage Bar was previously an auto service garage. The bar served a variety of drinks, beers and offered pizzas from a wood-fired brick oven. Garage Bar was founded 14 years ago.
