LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new Jamaican restaurant is coming to downtown Louisville.
Elliment Restaurant and Lounge, on 3rd Street just south of Broadway in the Weissinger Gaulbert building, will feature several different cuisines. But its signature items will be jerk chicken and oxtail.
Owner Janice Clark came to the U.S. from Jamaica in 2010 and moved to Louisville during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said she wants to bring the taste of the island to Louisville.
"Jamaican food is just dynamite," Clark said. "We have one of — and I'm being biased here — the best food there is. It's spicy, it's delicious and lots and lots of flavor."
Clark says she anticipates the restaurant opening in late March or early April.
