LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new bar and outdoor venue is set to open this summer in Louisville's Meriwether neighborhood.

The Jubilee Field Bar will open in August at 529 E. Burnett Ave., next to The Bard, according to our partners at Louisville Business First. That's near the intersection of Meriwether and East Burnett avenues, not far from Old Louisville and the Shelby Park neighborhood.

Co-owners Isaiah and Courtney Dietrich also own the former church that houses The Bard—formerly The Bard's Town.

Courtney Dietrich said they have a vision for the new bar and multi-use outdoor venue.

"We want Jubilee Field to be a sacred ground that sparks joy and cultivates real connection," she said, adding that the hope is for it to become part of an entertainment corridor with The Bard and Jubilee Field Bar complementing each other once they're up and running.

Electrical contractor Isaiah Dietrich said he got the idea for The Jubilee Bar after recently attending the funk band Parliament-Funkadelic concert at Paristown Hall.

"At one point I was in the audience, and I thought, 'I worked so hard for so long, and these dudes have partied for work. And I’d like to party for work a little bit more,'" he said.

LBF reports there are three "distinct yet interconnected zones" included at The Jubilee Bar. Those include The Jubilee Field—green space for outdoor games, live music and community events; The Field Bar—a full-service bar with an indoor/outdoor flow; The Galerie—an 1,100-square-foot indoor space for private gatherings.

Isaiah Dietrich said the venue will keep regular bar hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., including dining service from some permanent food trucks.

"During the week and outside of events, it will be more like an outdoor game yard with your badmintons, bocce ball and maybe some cornhole," he added.

The venue also includes hookups for up to eight food trucks, a movable stage and the capacity to add fire pits during cooler months.
