LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kroger is bringing new jobs and more groceries to the Commonwealth.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced Thursday the grocery chain will add a new distribution center in Franklin, about 30 minutes south of Bowling Green.

The $391 million facility will create about 430 full-time jobs. The facility will be a full-line center, featuring automated operations designed to supply the region efficiently.

Kroger has also re-invested in Bowling Green where Country Oven, a bakery owned by Kroger, completed a $204 million expansion.

There are more than 110 Kroger stores in Kentucky, employing more than 19,000 people. The state is also home to four manufacturing and distribution centers including the regional headquarters in Louisville.
