LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is expecting a record number of travelers for spring break.
According to a news release Monday, the airport has more than 36,500 departing seats scheduled from March 28-31, an increase of 13% compared to the same time last year.
"Spring is officially here, and people are ready to visit their favorite fun in the sun vacation spots," Dan Mann, executive director of Louisville Regional Airport Authority, said in a news release Monday. "With capacity up, we expect it to be a very busy week at SDF. We encourage everyone to be mindful and prepared for this when traveling through our airport."
Airport officials recommend people arrive at least two hours before a scheduled departure time and expect lines to be longer than usual. Flights will typically board the aircraft 30-40 minutes before the posted departure time.
