LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Zoo is up for two national awards, but needs the community's help to bring them home.
The zoo has been nominated as Best Zoo and Best Zoo Membership as part of USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.
Voting is open now through Monday, March 10 at 11:59 a.m. The public can cast their votes online for one nominee per category each day by clicking here.
"Our Louisville Zoo is incredible and draws so many people to our city from across the region to enjoy the animals and learn more about our environment," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a news release Monday, encouraging residents to cast their vote.
The Louisville Zoo was nominated for Best Zoo in 2024, and placed in the top 10 for Best Zoo Exhibit for Glacier Run.
This isn't the first time Louisville has been among the nominees in several categories for the USA Today Readers' Choice Awards.
In 2023, Louisville's Please & Thank You coffee shop and bakery was voted "Best Cookie Shop" in the U.S.
Last year, the Kentucky Derby Museum was ranked third in the category of Best Attractions for Sports Fans in the awards, while the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory ranked fifth. Churchill Downs was also in the running.
Slugger Field was nominated for Best Minor League Ballpark last year.
Waterfront Park was also nominated last year for Best Riverwalk in the U.S., placing third in the same category in 2023.
