LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Money is still available for Metropolitan Sewer District low-income customers to save on wastewater bills.Â
MSD is offering a 30% discount through the Emergency Wastewater Rate Assistance program and the Senior Citizen Discount program. The discounts are available for qualified customers in Jefferson, Bullitt and Oldham counties.
"We recognize the financial difficulties many are facing," MSD Executive Director Tony Parrott said in a news release Tuesday. "These rate relief programs are a vital lifetime for many in our community."
EWRAP is offering for ratepayers whose household incomes are at 150% of the poverty line or below. To apply, click here or call 502-540-6000. The discount is valid from Nov. 1, 2023, to Oct. 31, 2024. The participation is capped at 3,000 households. Jefferson County customers can apply for the program with Louisville Metro Office of Resilience and Community Services at 502-991-8391 or by clicking here.
MSD customers have to be 65 or older and have a gross annual household income of $35,000 or less to apply for the senior citizen discount program. Residents who received assistance in 2022 don't need to reapply this year as enrollment will continue.
