LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new space in southern Indiana plans to empower female business owners and entrepreneurs.
Wall Street Suites opens at 424 Wall Street, off Court Avenue, on Monday. The workspace is dedicated to supporting, mentoring and elevating business owners in southern Indiana and Louisville.
Deidra Collins, president and owner of TCT Collective, saw there was a need for women and minority-owned businesses to be supported.
"I wanted to create this space to elevate women business owners in southern Indiana and Louisville," Collin said. "Growing up I knew women business owners, but they were few and far between. I wanted to create this space to highlight them, elevate them, mentor them, just help them grow their business."

Collins and her husband James Thornton both went to Jeffersonville High School and stayed connected to the area while living in Houston.
"It was always home because our kids are here, our family is here, and so we would come back home frequently to be with family, and still have ties to the community," Collins said. "We still felt this draw to the community."
Collins wanted to give back to the community, so she decided to pass on her knowledge and experiences to other business owners trying to get started.
"It was important because it was needed, it was long overdue," Collins said. "The price here is under market, so it gives those first-time business owners, especially minority and female owners who don't have quick or easy access to capital a place to start and launch. And also get some mentorship to grow their business."
Thornton was the visionary for the space and spent months renovating it.

Wall Street Suites has five individual suites on the left side of the building with a shared kitchen area and bathrooms. On the opposite side, there are two executive suites with their own restrooms that include a shower, a washer and dryer and kitchen area. There is also an outdoor green space and a private parking lot.
People don't have to rent a space to utilize Wall Street Suites. Collins said the space will offer business collaboration and mentorship.
Wall Street Suites also offers discounts to first-time LLC owners, veterans, nonprofits and women over 55 years old.
