LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A study that looked at the noise coming from Louisville's Topgolf location found the levels to be comparable to pre-construction of the golf facility.

Topgolf commissioned the study, which looked at four hours on a weekend night at homes near the facility at Oxmoor Center just outside St. Matthews.

The study found that the noise was only slightly higher than before Topgolf was built. It said the increase in noise could have been from traffic on the Watterson Expressway.

Topgolf opened last November after nearly four years of back and forth between Topgolf, Hurstbourne residents who live near Oxmoor Center, and the city of Louisville.

When the Louisville location was announced in 2018, some neighbors pushed back over concerns about an increase in noise, lights and traffic. A group of residents filed a lawsuit against Topgolf and Metro Government in an effort to stop the plan from moving forward. But in June 2019, a judge ruled in favor of Topgolf, allowing the project to continue.
