LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Verizon users reported widespread outages on Monday.Â
The website Down Detector showed issues with multiple cell phone carriers including AT&T, T Mobile and US Cellular, but Verizon's users reported the most widespread problems.Â
At 11:48 am (Eastern), Verizon posted on social media that it was aware of the issue.Â
"We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue."
Down Detector indicated reports of an outage in major cities across the U.S including Chicago, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Seattle, Omaha, Denver and Columbus, Ohio. It appears outage reports started about 10 a.m.Â
Users reported phones either had no service or were stuck in SOS mode.Â
