LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Employees at Yum! Brands have until September to decide if they are relocating to Plano, Texas, the company said in a letter.
The company announced in February plans to relocate around 100 corporate jobs in Louisville to the company's Plano office, combining the KFC Louisville headquarters with Pizza Hut's headquarters.
In a letter dated May 23 to Jenni Hampton of the Kentucky Career Center, Heather McCoy, chief people officer for KFC U.S., said employees who do not relocate to Plano "will be separated from their employment on Sept. 30, 2025," or during a 14-day period from that date, our partners at Louisville Business First reported Wednesday.
McCoy said in the letter that due to the relocation opportunities being offered, the company can't give an accurate number of how many employees will be lost. But in a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed with the state, the company said it estimates the employee loss to be about 91.
Employees who don't relocate to Texas may be eligible for severance packages, but can't "avoid separation by bumping or displacing other employees," the company said in the letter.
In April, WDRB reported Yum! Brands is spending about $7 million to relocate the KFC headquarters to Texas, with most of that money going toward employee severance benefits.
