LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A playground in southern Indiana is nearing completion.

Clarksville Park and Recreation posted photos of Ashland Park's new accessible playground on Saturday.

"We've caught some of you taking a sneak peek at our almost-ready accessible playground, and we love the buzz and while we won't shoo you away, we do ask that you mind the mess as we add the final sparkle to the park," Clarksville Parks and Recreation posted. "Take a little look if you must, but remember to exercise caution around our work-in-progress playground."

A ribbon cutting for the playground has yet to be announced.

The project, which is part of Clarksville's Riverside Drive revitalization project, is funded by a $475,000 federal grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund with $300,000 of that funding being used to install the playground and turf.

Ashland Park runs from the intersection of West Market Street and Riverside Drive to the L&I Railroad Bridge.

The previous playground at Ashland Park, which was installed in 1995 at a price of $10,000, was removed in late April.
