LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 28-year-old Crestwood, Ky. man has been arrested after police say he used the Internet to solicit who he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex.
According to a news release, the investigation began on May 1, when Christopher Coy engaged in sexually explicit conversations online and on the phone with a Frankfort-based Kentucky State Police detective who was posing as a minor.
"The conversation included nude images of the minor and outlining specific details of his sexual intentions when the defendant was to meet with said minor," an arrest warrant states.
Police say Coy arranged to meet with the "minor" at a location in Louisville on May 14. When he arrived, expecting to meet with a juvenile girl, he instead met with law enforcement, who served an arrest warrant and took him into custody.
He was charged with engaging in the unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities.
Kentucky State Police say St. Matthews Police and Louisville Metro Police assisted in the investigation.
