LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 13-year-old girl was arrested Friday in connection to a double shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood last month.

Louisville Metro Police were called to the 1500 block of West Chestnut Street around 5:30 p.m. May 30 on a reported shooting, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement at the time.

Once on scene, officers found two juvenile girls who had been shot. Mitchell said both were transported to University of Louisville hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said the girl has been charged with two counts of assault.
