LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 17-year-old was arrested after a shooting in Valley Station Sunday morning.

Matthew Sanders, a spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said officers responded on a reported shooting in the 10800 block of Emma Jean Way just after 3 a.m.

Police said two brothers, an adult and 17-year-old got into a verbal argument that escalated into a fight. The teenager grabbed a shotgun and pointed it at his adult brother.

A struggle then ensued, according to police. The gun went off and the teenager was shot in the calf and ankle.

But police said the 17-year-old was the primary aggressor, even though he was shot during the struggle.

According to police, the 17-year-old was charged with assault, wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a minor and possession of a defaced firearm.
