LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people are in the hospital after a shooting in Old Louisville on Monday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD Spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting near 4th and St. Catherine streets around 6:30 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they found two men outside with gunshot wounds.
Both men were taken to UofL Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to Ellis. Police are working to determine if there is a relationship between the victims, if any.
Police don't know what led up to the shooting or a motive.
A lady, who didn't want to be named, was sitting outside her building Monday when gunfire rang out.
"Because I don't know which way they are facing, they could be facing my way and I catch a stray bullet, no we ain't gonna play that,” she said.
Police said one of the men shot was in a wheelchair, and lives in St. Catherine Manor, near the shooting scene.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating the incident. There aren't any suspects in the shooting.
