LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two teens are in the hospital after being shot in Louisville Friday night.

Louisville Metro Police responded to a reported shooting around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of Marshall Street, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. That's in Louisville's Phoenix Hill neighborhood.

When officers got to the scene, they found a juvenile boy, "believed to be in his early teens," Ellis said, who had been shot. First aid was given until EMS arrived and transported the teen, who was alert and conscious, to University of Louisville Hospital with what police believe are non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, police were called to the 800 block of South 28th Street on another reported shooting, Ellis said. That's in the Parkland neighborhood. Police responding to the scene found another juvenile male, also thought to be in his early teens, who had been shot in his leg. He was alert and conscious when taken to hospital.

Ellis said LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, and it appears the shootings are connected. There are currently no suspects and have been no arrests.
