28-year-old Seymour man charged with battery after report of 5-year-old with 'significant bruising'

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Seymour man was arrested and charged with abusing a young child.

According to the Seymour Police Department, an investigation was started Dec. 17, 2025, after officers received a report of a 5-year-old having "significant bruising to the body" from the Indiana Department of Child Services.

Seymour police conducted interviews, and medical evaluations were performed as part of the investigation.

Tristan Shelton, 28, was arrested Tuesday by Seymour police officers and charged with domestic battery with bodily injury to a person under 14 and neglect of a dependent. He is being held at the Jackson County Jail.
