LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection to a shooting at a west Louisville bar.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a news release officers received a call around 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, reporting two women showed up at Norton West Hospital with gunshot wounds.

After an investigation, police confirmed the shooting happened around 2 a.m. at the Double Deuce Sports Bar and Grill at 2529 W. Broadway.

Police said Chaz Ross was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and firearms discharge prohibited.

Double Deuce Co-owner Stephon Harbin told WDRB that somebody managed to get past security with a weapon. It then was dropped on the floor and went off. He said there was no shooter actively firing in the club.

After the shooting, Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control issued a temporary emergency suspension order for the bar's liquor license.

The suspension means the Double Deuce Sports Bar and Grill is prohibited from selling or serving alcohol until an investigation is complete.
