LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Bullitt County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in a homicide investigation.
Patricia England, 42, was found face down in a ditch near Coral Ridge Road on Nov. 9 with several gunshot wounds. Officers believe she had been there for several hours.
When officers turned her body over, they immediately knew foul play was involved. Police need the public's help in solving the murder.
"It's definitely a homicide," Col. Alex Payne with Bullitt County Sheriff's Office said. "Helping us sort of roll back the clock and find out exactly where Ms. England was at any point in time before her death."
England died of multiple gunshot wounds.
"We know she's been in Kentucky, at least for some months," Payne said. "The last known area in Kentucky would be Rineyville area which is about seven miles northwest of E'town."
Payne said they've also traced the victim's roots several hundreds miles from Kentucky and contacted her family.
"We actually found some booking photos from Wisconsin where her parents actually I believe were located and so she hasn't been in Kentucky all that long," Payne said.
Detectives don't know if England was shot and killed on the side of the road or dumped there. They also learned she had a troubled past but Payne said she deserves justice.
"Regardless of the issues, nobody needs to leave this world like that," Payne said.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts on or before Nov. 9 to please call them at 502-543-2514 or use the crime tip line at 502-543-1262 or email crimetip@bcky.org.
