LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Ā A woman was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor student at her ballet academy in Oldham County.
Ariadne McAuley pleaded guilty to sodomy and wanton endangerment in June. She and her husband, Declan McAuley, sexually abused a 17-year-old girl, who was a student and employee at the Fleur-De-Lis Ballet Academy at the Mellwood Arts Center, in 2018, according to court records.Ā
Ariadne McAuley was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison and 5 years of probation upon her release on charges of wanton endangerment and sexual abuse. She will also have to register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors said the McAuleys engaged in sex acts with the victim at least seven times at their Crestwood home.Ā They also had sexual relations with each other in the presence of the victim, according to investigators.Ā
Police said the abuse came to light when the victim was interviewed at the Kosair Child Advocacy Center. Investigators subsequently found images of the victim sleeping naked on Declan Mcauley's cellphone.
Declan McAuley is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence after pleading guilty in January 2024.
