LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) — A former Indiana University student facing multiple rape charges will avoid prison time after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

According to FOX59, Gregory Gabler was initially arrested in September 2024 by IU police after officers received a rape report at an on-campus dorm.

Gabler was sentenced to six years of probation after pleading guilty to criminal confinement resulting in bodily injury.

In exchange for his plea, the state dismissed two pending felony rape charges against him.

As part of his sentence, Gabler also agreed to complete 200 hours of community service and will be allowed to remain in his home state of Florida during probation.
