LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 44-year-old inmate at the Jackson County Jail died at a hospital after being found unresponsive Sunday night.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Amuel Adam Hall, of Norman, Indiana, was found unresponsive Aug. 12 during a routine check.

Police said he was arrested Aug. 5 on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

According to police, Hall was in the jail's holding area until he was approved by medical personnel for placement in the general population.

Police said Hall's behavior was normal when he was observed throughout Sunday by jail staff. He was seen eating meals, talking with other inmates and using the jail phones.

Jail personnel began lifesaving measures when he was found unresponsive. He was taken to Schneck Medical Center where he later died.

ISP is investigating the death. This is the second death at the jail in recent weeks that ISP has begun investigating.

Richard Cox, who was facing child molestation charges, was found unresponsive at the jail July 25 following an "apparent suicide attempt." He was taken to a hospital and died July 29.
