LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Moore High School student will be criminally charged after allegedly reporting gunshots were heard inside the school.

The call reporting gunshots came in to MetroSafe sometime before 10 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from Jefferson County Public Schools spokesperson Carolyn Callahan.

JCPS police and Louisville Metro Police officer immediately responded, even though "we quickly knew this was not a legitimate call and there was no shooting or threat," Callahan said in the release.

Callahan said police determined a student made the false call. That student will be disciplined in accordance with the JCPS Student Support & Behavior Intervention Handbook, and is facing criminal charges.

JCPS also said social media posts stating that ICE agents raided the school are false.
