LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Jefferson County judge dismissed a manslaughter charge in a deadly January 2023 hit and run case.

According to court documents, on Jan. 15, 2023, 22-year-old Angelo Collier was driving a stolen Dodge Challenger down Jefferson Street at 75 mph in a 25 mph zone when he hit Vinnie Jacoway, who was crossing the street.

Jacoway was pronounced dead at the scene. Collier then allegedly drove the vehicle to the intersection of South 10th and West Jefferson streets, where police said he was captured on surveillance video abandoning the vehicle and running away.

In court on Nov. 25, a judge granted a motion to dismiss Collier's manslaughter, operating on a suspended license, receiving stolen property greater than $10,000, leaving a scene of a deadly accident, and tampering with physical evidence charges.

Collier is still charged with two counts of wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, and two counts of fleeing from police. He's due back in court on Jan. 22, 2026.
