LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Frankfort man was convicted of rape and sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years old.
A jury found Thomas Flowers, 39, guilty on all charges in Franklin Circuit Court on Wednesday.
According to Sheriff Chris Quire, deputies started investigating in March 2023 and charged Flowers for raping and sexually abusing a child under the age of 12.
The jury convicted Flowers after three days of trial this week. Quire said the jury recommended a sentence of two life terms in prison, plus 55 years to be served consecutively.
The sheriff went on to say the sentencing sends a strong message to sex offenders.
Flowers will be formally sentenced by a judge on May 24.
