LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 49-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder in Grayson County, according to Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Scotty Sharp posted on social media on Monday afternoon that George Greer was found and taken into custody without incident. Police were searching for Greer after a murder in Grayson County.

KSP said the homicide happened at a home on Indian Ridge Road in Falls of the Rough. According to police, Greer assaulted three adults who lived at a home on Indian Ridge Road with a samurai sword.

Teresa Boles, 59, died at the scene while 60-year-old Joseph Boles was flown to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 32-year-old woman was taken to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police had been searching for Greer and believed he was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan with the rear window broken out.

Grayson County Sheriff Norm Chaffins posted on social media that Greer was at large for a few hours. Chaffins said the suspect was spotted in a field near the scene of the murder, but after a short foot pursuit Greer was able to steal a vehicle that had been left unlocked with keys inside.

The stolen vehicle was found in a field off Edwards Cemetery Road, and Greer was arrested a few minutes later.

KSP told the public early in the day that Greer should be "treated as armed and dangerous."

Greer was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and burglary, among other charges.
