LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Lexington man was arrested after leading a Nelson County deputy on a high-speed chase.

According to police, Hugo Perez was speeding and passing other cars on the shoulder when an officer attempted to stop him Saturday just after 11:30 p.m. on New Shepherdsville Road.

Police said Perez hit a curb and then got out of the car and ran. He surrendered after a brief chase.

Perez is facing several charges speeding, driving under the influence, wanton endangerment and fleeing or evading police.
