LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man charged with killing his father and his son had his bond set Tuesday morning at $500,000 full cash.

Yunior Rodriguez Ricardo was arraigned after Louisville Metro Police investigators said he admitted he shot and killed his family members Monday at the Douglas Park apartments in south Louisville.

A translator was used Tuesday morning in court to enter a plea of not guilty for him. And due to a statement he made in court, Rodriguez Ricardo was ordered to undergo mental health evaluation at Louisville Metro Corrections.

He's charged with murder, tampering with evidence and other charges.

Police said they found the gun used in the shooting under a pest control box with a defaced serial number.

Rodriguez Ricardo has a lengthy criminal history, including a second degree manslaughter conviction. According to an arrest citation from 2013, he admitted to stabbing a person "several times." He was found guilty of manslaughter in 2016.

He was found guilty of DUI in 2019 and was later charged with driving on a suspended license. In recent months, Rodriguez Ricardo has also been cited for failing to appear in court.
