LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was in court Monday for allegedly overdosing with her two children in the car.
Taquita Robinson, 43, was found unconscious behind the wheel of a car that was stopped in a turning lane on Buechel Bypass late Saturday afternoon, according to court documents. Â
Officers and EMS found Robinson, who didn't respond when EMS knocked on the window and yelled for her to open the door of the 2018 GMC Denali she was driving. One of the children unlocked the door so officers could check on Robinson. Police said the car was in "drive" with Robinson passed out, her foot still on the brake. EMS put the car in Park and shut off the engine.Â
Robinson was revived after being given three doses of Narcan. As first responders treated Robinson, they found a small baggie of a "powdery substance" believed to be heroin in a cigarette pack in the pocket of her hoodie.Â
When asked if she was under the influence, Robinson told officers she "smokes weed and that's it." She also admitted to having "2 shots of Jim Beam."Â
She is facing several charges, including DUI, wanton endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.Â
The judge set Robinson's bond at $2,500 cash. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 13.Â
