LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is facing charges after firing a shot into the lobby of the Madisonville Police Department.

According to police, Patrick Waddle, 36, is seen on surveillance video entering the police department's lobby around 4 a.m. Thursday. Waddle, a Madisonville resident, walks around the lobby before going back outside to the parking lot.

Waddle returns a few minutes later with a handgun and fires one round through the front door of the police station before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police served a search warrant on his residence, where a handgun was found.

Waddle is charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer and criminal mischief. He is being held in the Hopkins County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
