LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man turned himself in to police a day after a 22-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night in Louisville's Park DuValle neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police responded around 9:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Louis Coleman Jr. Drive, said department spokesperson Aaron Ellis.
When officers arrived, they found a man inside the home who had been shot and killed, police said.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Sunday as James Pendleton.
In an update, police said 20-year-old Gianni Fortney turned himself in to officers Sunday while they were working National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
He was arrested and turned over to detectives. Fortney was charged with murder and two counts of wanton endangerment in connection to the shooting.
In court Monday morning, Fortney pleaded not guilty and a judge set his bond at $750,000 cash.
