LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after officers with the Nelson County Sheriff's Department shot at him Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa said just after 3 p.m. a man was shot at by deputies with the department. The man then shot himself and died.

Five deputies were involved in the incident, according to Pineiroa. It's unknown at this time why officers shot at the man.
