LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are asking for help identifying a man after a shooting in the Russell neighborhood Saturday morning.

Police were called to the area near the intersection of 22nd and Market streets at 9 a.m. on a reported shooting, Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a statement. Photos from a WDRB photojournalist at the scene showed police tape near a parking lot at a food mart.

Once on scene, police found a man who had been shot, Ellis said. He wasĀ "alert and conscious" when EMSĀ transported him to University of Louisville HospitalĀ with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument over a box of chicken. Police are now looking to identify a man who was at the scene of the shooting. He was wearing a white t-shirt, camo shorts, a hat and riding a bicycle.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, but no arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, or anyone who may have captured the shooting on a cellphone or video surveillance, to contact them.

Anyone with information or video in this or any other case is asked to call LMPD's anonymous Crime Tip Line at (502) 574-LMPD (5763). Tips can also be submitted anonymously online through the department's Crime Tip Portal by clicking here.
